A large terrestrial insect very common in the backcountry late summer and autumn.

Trout can and do go absolutely crazy on this insect when it is flying and it is not uncommon to find trout stomach's full of them.

White poly post, cloth wing cut to shape lying flat over the body and dotted with black spots, pearl krystal flash tied under the wing, body of deer hair dyed green and clipped to shape and brown cock hackle tied parachute. We use these flies in the smaller sizes of 12 and 14 and they are deadly.
