A long time favourite and very successful fly, this pattern is really just a variant of one of the greatest flies ever created.

II have replaced the thorax with brown squirrel fur and the wingcase with black thinskin and added a black/gold tungsten bead to the front of the fly. More often than not i also add an underlay of fine lead wire.

This is the pattern i use most often with the ''Opeti'' fly in a tandem rig set up but is also very good fished by itself on a long leader in sizes 12 - 18. A superb fly for the early part of the season.
